Hays & Beechwood Civils: Civils Foreman role

Hays has partnered with Beechwood Civils & Construction to recruit an experienced Civils Foreman for ongoing projects in Cork.

Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, Beechwood has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and enthusiastic Civils Foreman with a proven track record. You will join their experienced team working on large-scale project in Midleton, Co. Cork. The ideal candidate will work closely with the site team in order to facilitate all works completed and ensure work is carried out to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct your work in a safe manner - correct and take responsibility to ensure that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards.
  • Ensure that engineers and operatives clearly understand the information provided.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with work colleagues, design teams and site engineers.
  • Review detailed design, critique and communicate with engineer, designers and client to ensure adequate design is available for construction.
  • Ensure work is carried out to the highest of quality standards and implement the company’s project-specific procedures.
  • Follow direction as part of a team and attend meetings as required.
  • Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.
  • Management of subcontractors/general workforce on site.
  • Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved.
  • Liaise with client's representatives/Design Team members as appropriate.
  • Ordering and control of materials on site.
  • Maintaining the site records and records of discussions/meetings with designers and subcontractors.
  • Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work and contractual awareness.
  • Ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and within budget and schedule.

Requirements

  • Engineering Qualification is a distinct advantage in this role.
  • A background in civils, water and groundworks projects.
  • A full Irish driving license is essential.
  • Proven experience in site engineering within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
